During my last few weeks of living in Chicago, I was thinking a lot about the city and my time in it, and I came up with this list of things that are essentially Chicago to me. Today I came across it, and it seemed like a good thing to post here. So, this is Chicago:
Free summer concerts at Millennium Park
House shows
The Hyde Park Jazz Society at Room 43
Sitting on the balcony of my apartment in Logan Square with my roommate, eating pasta, drinking beer and blasting Born Ruffians
Experimental electronics, violin and bass clarinet at Heaven Gallery
Experimental jazz Tuesday nights at Rodan
Monday night kickball at Haas Park (until the police kicked us out)
Playing music with roommates and friends
Riding the L
Late night jazz shows at the Green Mill
Table tennis at Happy Village Bar
Eating at Cozy Corner
Saturday Afternoon Shows at Domestication Station
